With a bit of mind-reading, spoon bending, and talking to a dead savant who actually makes his presence felt, this presentation is for entertainment as well as showing just how useful science is to protect you against exploitation from those who claim paranormal abilities. Simple demonstrations you can do at home illustrate the science behind spontaneous human combustion, UFO sightings and making convincing psychic predictions.

Tauromancy - my personal divination system for performing psychic readings. I am often told "There is no way you could have known that! You must be psychic!"

Cold reading can be used to exploit those unfamiliar with its principles. It can also be used to develop warm, honest and rewarding exchanges in a very short time. Knowing about cold reading is the best protection against being exploited - emotionally and financially.

Cold reading can also be used when you want a conversation which gets right to the heart of what it is to be human. And gets there fast.
